2020, copit was incorporated when 'Delta' was striking, devastating most Asia regions. Our team kind of expected life would not be the same but then the Russia-Ukraine war broke out while our global economy was still in recovery. By April of 2022, we landed in Canada regardless and learned that most businesses and events were still ‘half-asleep’ for not having enough traffic (eg: LLHA Tradeshow postponed several times and remained in limbo, One Of A Kind Show got only 1/3 its annual vendor participation). Even before the fiascos of Luna and FTX, blockchain and crypto related booths were rather stale during our Collision’s attendance. Right before the New Year’s Eve,our China suppliers informed us about weeks to months of delay as Covid sweeps through the country.

In this time of uncertainty, we took the old dogs’ formula from the likes of CP Foods and have been pivoting copit into a vertically driven company. When we arrived in Oshawa, some members of our gang were really craving for Asian taste, but nothing could really work. Yet for as little as $4.5, CP Foods (Charoen Pokphand) can deliver the closest taste to the authentic pad Thai dish after 3 minutes inside the microwave oven. CP Foods also sell a wide variety of products made of the chickens – from the little eggs to shelf-stable chicken broth. So, if CP Foods builds an empire out of chickens, we might as well try with leather. That's why our new motto is "from farm to your wardrobe". In this vision, copit will become a store platform plus consignment feature, focusing on leather products.

Besides buying merchandises from Gucci, Dior, Rick Owens, etc., we’ve been experimenting with ODM for at least one sponsored brand called CANGIANTE. It's a collaborative vision among creative talents in North America.

And finally, for our pursuit of sustainability, we’ve committed to source the most of leather remnants, thrown-aways skins, and deadstock hardware for collection production, as well as during our R&D. During this journey, we might have invented a new chemical paste to help refinish the surface of damaged leather - a mixture of fresh rubber sap, mixed with non-toxic coloring agent, ...
